Think Ireland

Ireland has maintained close diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation for over forty years, but diplomatic, economic and cultural links, as well as personal connections, extend long before this.

The relationship between Ireland and Russia has flourished in recent years, as exemplified by the visit of the then President of Ireland, Mary McAleese, to Russia in 2010, the deepening trade relationship reflected in a very active Ireland-Russia Joint Economic Commission, and numerous very successful cultural visits and activities on both sides.

Ireland has an Embassy in Moscow headed by Ambassador Adrian McDaid, which includes a Consulate/Visa Office, a Trade Section represented by Enterprise Ireland, and local representation of Irish agencies Bord Bia (food) and IDA (FDI).

There are also Honorary Consulates in St Petersburg, and Almaty, Kazakhstan.
